The Drumstick marked my first job. I wasn’t the only one. Lots of teenagers got their first work experience there whether it was in the dining room as a waitress or the kitchen as a cook. With that many young people working there, it was easy to have fun and make decent money. Nothing like the tips the staff get in today’s restaurants. Back then .25 to .50 cents was a standard tip. A dollar was hitting the jackpot.
For me an added bonus of the job was I met my first love there. Great memories.
